History
1908
Chartered June 22, 1908, Local 23 of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) has proudly represented the men and women of the IUEC in Oregon and Southwest Washington for over a century.
A Century of Impact
Local 23 elevator constructors installed the Oregon City Municipal Elevator. Built in 1915, and still in service today, it is one of only four municipal elevators in the world and the only “vertical street” in North America.
Charitable Efforts
Local 23 members support as many local and charitable causes as possible. Our two biggest causes are installing lifts in the homes of disabled veterans through A Lift For A Vet and our annual toy drive for Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital.
